Fitzroy House is one of the oldest homesteads remaining on Great Barrier Island. Built in 1901 the house boasts beautiful decorative finishes of craftsmen builders.
Large indoor and outdoor dining areas, a library nook as well as TV/living room provide generous living areas. There are also ample gardens to explore.
Five bedrooms in the house can accommodate up to 10 people, with two doubles (one with ensuite bathroom), two twin singles and a bunk room with ensuite toilet.
To make your stay comfortable, Fitzroy House is self contained, including all linen. Facilities include a large BBQ, blue tooth stereo and a selection of books and games. For winter nights there is a wood burner and Stanley stove to keep the house cosy.
Access to the property is by road or sea. You can steer your boat to our private wharf or drive directly to your accommodation to unpack, unwind and begin your ultimate holiday experience.
"A totally magical weekend with friends at Glenfern Sanctuary. We stayed in the historic Fitzroy House conveniently located inside the sanctuary. Highly recommend for a break away."
